Performance tonight (Thursday 6/7) and three performances this weekend. Opening weekend audiences laughed and loved the Providence Players production of the Neil Simon comedy California Suite.
The Providence Players, an award-winning, non-profit, all-volunteer community theater troupe serving Northern Virginia and the DC Metropolitan area, closes its 20th anniversary season with the Neil Simon comedy, California Suite. The production runs through June 16th at the beautiful and historic, James Lee Community Center Theater at 2855 Annandale Road in Falls Church, Virginia.
When a vacation runs a bit long, nerves go on edge and the hilarity just flows. Last stop before home is the “California Suite” written by Neil Simon, directed by Beth Whitehead, and on stage from the Providence Players through June 16, 2018.

THE PLAY
California Suite is Neil Simon’s humorous confection in four separate comedy playlets with one common thread. Four couples from different cities travel to California over the course of a year and stay in the same Beverly Hills Hotel suite, bringing their problems, anxieties and comic marital dilemmas with them. Simon is at his most humane and compassionate, and the banter flies fast and furious in this popular comedy. The New York Times said “Mr. Simon is writing at his ebullient best…[He] makes us laugh so effortlessly.”
In Visitor from New York, a divorced couple, Bill and Hannah Warren, have met in the suite in order to discuss who will get custody of their teenage daughter.

In Visitor from Philadelphia, Marvin Michaels finds himself in a very difficult position when his wife Millie comes to meet him in the suite.
Liz Mykietyn and Dave Wright are in from Philadelphia for a visit to the “California Suite” onstage from the Providence Players through June 16, 2018.
In Visitors from London, Sidney and Diana Nichols are a couple from London who have rented the suite to attend the Academy Awards.

The Visitors from Chicago are two affluent couples who are best friends and have come to Beverly Hills for a vacation which takes a turn for the worst after a mixed doubles tennis match.
